My Favourite Spot at Santa Eularia, Ibiza – my watercolour painting

Hoan Kiem is a beautiful tranquil lake right in the heart of bustling Hanoi, Vietnam. It boasts a pagoda in its centre and a very old turtle which some locals believe has mystical powers. It is not unusual to see couples and individuals sitting in quiet contemplation by the water’s side and old ladies doing their exercises.
This painting in oils, is from a photograph taken by my son, who lives in Hanoi.
I do like Ibiza, one of the Balearic Islands. Away from the clubs and crowded places it has a certain mysticism of which the Hippies became aware in the 1960’s, many settling there and on neighbouring Formentara.
Es Vedra was the backdrop to several scenes in the movie South Pacific, a massive rock soaring out of the Mediterranean, changing colour at sundown. Painted in watercolour.
