Seahouses Harbour Рmy watercolour painting

Seahouses Harbour

Seahouses Harbour, on the Northumberland Coast, is just finished, painted in watercolour. As well as being a working harbour for fishermen, regular boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands are available where there are countless species of seabirds and a colony of Grey Seals.
The islands have a very old history being a place where several religious hermits sought peace and solitude. From mid 7th Century they were occupied by Saint Aidan and later Saint Cuthbert. A monastic cell was built on one of the islands in 12th Century and later, a small chapel.
Seahouses today, is a popular holiday resort where families can stay at the many hotels and boarding houses, visiting the extensive golden sandy beaches, nearby.
