Chapel Stile is a village in the Lake District, Cumbria about 5 miles from Ambleside. I spent much of my youth walking and climbing the Lakeland hills.
This Watermill at Ambleside on Lake Windermere in Cumbria, is driven by the water of the Stock Ghyll. Originally a nineteenth century bobbin mill it now houses a cafe serving this part of the English Lake District’s tourist industry. Painted in watercolour.
