Evening at Low Newton

This oil painting shows the North East Coast village of Low Newton, as the sun goes down. A lovely quiet place with focal point, The Ship Inn, located in the village square ( down the road in the picture and to the right). Good ales and food, with the sound of the waves on the beach and seagulls cries, as you sit outside on a sunny day.
The beach is typical of so many on this Northumberland Coast; acres of clean sand, rarely more than a couple of dozen people on it, backed by wild grass covered sand dunes. In the distance can be seen the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle.

  1. Hello Richard, it’s Bridget Lowery (I bought the painting of the High Level Bridge). I’m interested in the Low Newton painting. Is it for sale? How much? And is it framed? Thank you Bridget

  2. Hi, I’m interested in this painting. Is it still available and at £135? How do we go about buying it? Thanks. Chris.
